Ebbene a guardare tutti dall’alto in basso, neanche troppo a sorpresa, il nuovo fenomeno Lizzo, l’estate scorsa arrivata in Italia grazie a The Voice. 8 candidature per la cantante, da poco anche al cinema con Le Ragazze di Wall Street, in corsa tra i migliori dischi dell’anno insieme a Lana Del Rey, Bon Iver, Billie Eilish, Vampire Weekend, H.E.R. e il 20enne Lil Nas X, primo storico rapper di colore dichiaratamente gay a conquistare la vetta Billboard grazie al tormentone Old Town Road.
Addirittura sei candidature per Lil, affiancato in questa speciale graduatoria dalla Eilish. Tre debuttanti alla conquista degli Oscar della musica, a dispetto delle grandi ‘icone’. Del tutto snobbata Madonna, con il suo Madame X fatto fuori dalle principali categorie. Un’unica candidatura minore per Madge, grazie al remix di Rise, firmato Tracy Young. 4 le candidature per Beyoncè, con Taylor Swift sorprendentemente ferma a 3. Da A Star is Born, ad un anno dall’uscita al cinema, Lady Gaga ha estratto un’altra nomination grazie a Always Remember Us This Way, mentre la leggendaria Barbra Streisand ha conquistato una candidatura con il disco Walls. Presente tra i nominati anche il nostro Andrea Bocelli, con Sì. Per tutte le nomination sono stati considerati brani e dischi usciti tra il 1 ottobre 2018 e il 31 agosto 2019.
