Due anni dopo la 250esima e ultima puntata di Modern Family, riuscita in 11 stagione a vincere ventidue premi Emmy, di cui cinque consecutivi come miglior serie comedy, e un Golden Globe, Steven Levitan torna in onda grazie a Reboot, serie che debutterà il 2 novembre prossimo su Disney+.
Prodotto Hulu, Reboot rilancia l’immaginaria family sitcom dei primi anni 2000 Step Right Up, rimettendo insieme il suo cast disfunzionale, con attori chiamati ad affrontare i propri problemi irrisolti nel mondo di oggi che cambia rapidamente. Il cast della serie è composto da Keegan-Michael Key di Schmigadoon!, Judy Greer di Mad Love, Johnny Knoxville di Jackass Forever, Paul Reiser di Stranger Things, Rachel Bloom di Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Calum Worthy di The Act e Krista Marie Yu.
Non è chiaro se ci saranno sottotrame queer all’interno della serie, ma a giudicare dal primo esilarante trailer si ironizza e non poco sull’industria hollywoodiana di oggi, sempre più (fortunatamente) orientata all’inclusione e alla diversità.
